Terrell Owens to Play Indoor Football?

Now I can understand a passion to play a game you love, but some things are just over my head. On Wednesday, via Twitter, Terrell Owens announced that he's going to play and become part owner of the IFL (Indoor Football League) Allen Wranglers.

The teams co-owner Jon Frankel said he had been in contact for weeks about the move with Owens and on Wednesday night made the deal official by agreeing to terms with the former NFL star.

"It's official, it just went down, I'm headed back to Dallas," Owens said. "That right IFL, here I come. Allen, Texas, here I come."

The deal is reported to be in the six-figure range, and Owens will become co-owner, CEO, and player for the organization when there season begins on February 25.

TO had been on the mend since injuring his knee and hoped to sign with an NFL team after declaring he was ready to go midway through the season, but not one team picked up the phone and called the 38-year-old.  I can't confirm that, but certainly his agent Drew Rosenhaus could.

While it isn't the NFL, which I'm sure Owens can still play in, it's still football.  I honestly believe TO will use it as a showcase for NFL teams to display that he's healthy and ready to help somebodies receiving core. And if nothing else it's a business venture that should provide him some income to fight off the court system in his child support cases. Guess we'll have to wait and see how it plays out.
