Video: Dana White Comments on James Toney's MMA Defeat

Last night at UFC 118 James "Lights Out" Toney took a beating from MMA and UFC legend Randy Couture. Toney was forced to submit late in round one, after Couture applied an arm-triangle choke that literally turned out Toney's lights. Pun clearly intended, poorly utilized.

It was exactly what I and most of the fighting public assumed it would be, a fight where Couture would take James down and beat him up. The stand up action along with Toney's chances lasted all of 20 seconds.

It was clear the Toney wasn't qualified to be in the ring with such a seasoned MMA fighter like Couture. He wasn't able to do anything from his back once Randy got him to the ground, and that to me was extremely disappointing. If you talk trash, then work to improve your skill set so you have a 'real' chance to win.

I've been a fan of James Toney since he was a slick boxing middleweight taking on the likes of Michael Nunn and Mike McCallum in the early 90's. I was 14 years old when he fought Roy Jones Jr. for the super-middleweight title, and I can remember being glued to the t.v. set for that entire fight. James Toney the boxer has had a great career, but the new MMA fighter sucks.

Dana may have said James Toney was done, but Toney's post fight comments went in a different direction. When asked would he fight in MMA again, Toney replied he would fight again because he isn't a quitter.

Top College Prospect Schools John Wall Twice.....

Austin Rivers is ranked #1 by Rivals.com for shooting guards in the class of 2011 and on Wednesday he demonstrated why he deserves that ranking to the NBA's latest #1 draft pick John Wall.



The bottom line is that Wall got crossed over and ripped in the sequence by a very talented young man. It's basketball and it happens, but you don't usually get video evidence of a #1 draft pick getting embarrassed.

In case you weren't aware, Austin is the son of Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers.

NBA 2K11 Comin 10/5

After finding out that Michael Jordan would be making his way back to gaming consoles, many NBA fans started to get amped to play the upcoming NBA 2k11 franchise. The game, due in stores 10/5, offers fans a few new modes also like the "Jordan Challenge," where you have to repeat some classic Jordan moments. There is also a mode where you play as a rookie MJ (rating 79) on any team & you have the responsibility to make him the MJ we all know & love in a class of today's superstars. And for my sneaker heads, all 25 editions of Air Jordans will be featured on the game as well. As a MJ fan & a NBA fan, this game is a must have. I can honestly say I am really looking forward to this game.

Open Letter 2 Karl Malone

Dear Karl Malone,

I know some people out there really believe that I HATE Karl Malone. Well I do. Some would even be surprised that I would even take tyme to write a letter to Karl Malone. Well I did. Everytyme I heard the name Karl Malone, I would say "F him." I thought Karl Malone was a dirty player & would be nothing if there was no Stockton or Jerry Sloan's system. But. there comes a tyme in every man's life where you just want to put aside the differences. Well today is that day. Karl Malone if your out there, in honor of your recent Hall of Fame induction, I want to personally invite you to have a sit down interview, man to man, with myself for the site. I feel this sit down could be very beneficial to the both of us. Now I can't say it will change my love for the Bulls or my feelings for the past, but it could definitely help change my views of you as a basketball player & as a person. You can have your people contact my people to set it up, but lets get it done & settle this thing once & for all.

My list of favorite players isn't very long, and a lot of people discount some of my guys, but that's why it's my list. Magic Johnson, Scottie Pippen, Grant Hill, Kevin Garnett, and Dennis Rodman make up my top five favs. Other than Rodman, you should be able to see a unique trend in the talent.

Growing up in the 1980's & 1990's blessed me with the opportunity to see some of basketball's greatest talents. The Lakeshow of the 1980's facing off against Larry Bird's Celtics provided me with some of my earliest memories of hardwood excellence.

Although the Pistons were despised by most I actually liked them. Yes, I know Bill Lambeer was dirty, but they had a squad of work horses who had a never say die attitude. If nothing else I knew I was likely to witness a game with some hard fouls and maybe even a little blood, and for me that was quality programming.

All that brings me to the Chicago Bulls, who are arguably the greatest dynasty to have ever played the game. We all know that Michael Jordan is the best player ever, but his right hand man is one of my all time favorites. Pip could do it all on the basketball court, and I admired him most for his tenacious defense and unselfish play. Scottie always understood his role and he flourished in the triangle offense because of his premiere passing ability.

There isn't an argument among intelligent hoops fans that Jordan couldn't have won without Scottie Pippen, but every blue moon I hear some lames making the case for just the opposite. It pains me to hear such nonsense, especially considering just how valuable Pippen really was. In my opinion #33 is the best #2 guy of all time.

The Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame inducted Pippen into it's family this past weekend in a grand ceremony that included other legends; Karl Malone, Cynthia Cooper, Bob Hurley Sr., Dennis Johnson (DJ), Gus Johnson, and the Dream Team.

Cowardly Boyfriend Bails on Foul Ball....Girlfriend Takes the Hit.

Cartoon Network used to have a show called Courage The Cowardly Dog. I loved that show. That damn Courage was scary as hell, but he always fought hard for his geriatric owners. It didn't matter how big or bad his foe was, Courage shined bright in the end.

The jackwad in the clip clearly lacked a bit of courage. The incident occurred at the Braves/Astros game last night. Take a look as the boyfriend moves at the last minute of his attempt to catch a foul ball. Unfortunately, he didn't tell his girl to do the same.



Letting your girlfriend get hit by a foul ball may seem funny, well it is funny, but I would bet my left testicle he won't be getting any of those goodies until that bruise heals. His excuse about losing it in the lights was lame too! Come on buddy.

Anthony Tolliver Presents "The Decision....Part Deux!!"

Anthony Tolliver just schooled Prince James on how to make a "major" announcement. Short, sweet, and to the point.

I fear that he might find himself on Lebron's radar next season though. Probably not a good thing for him when the Prince does come calling.

Crazy Stat:

We are at the point in the summer where baseball is king, and all other sports are just court jesters. Sucks doesn't it?

So after scouring the net for some hoops highlights, I was lucky enough to come across a basketball clip that is definitely worthy of your time.

When hoops fans here the name Dominique, it immediately conjures up memories of the "Human Highlight Film" Dominique Wilkins, who was arguably the greatest dunker of all time. This clip features a new Dominique, and his performance may be just as good as some of the originals.

Trick Shot Mastery by The Legendary Shots.....

Everybody is a trick shot master these days, but The Legendary Shots may have just accomplished a bit of history.

The incredible shot you're about to witness was launched from a platform 134 feet in the air, near the top of the Vulcan monument in Birmingham, Alabama.

The basket is quite possibly the longest of its kind, although another group of kids from Texas claim their shot is the true world record.
