From Champions To Rock Band???

It seems the Los Angeles Lakers players have their eye on taking over more than just the basketball court. While Kobe may be their leader on the court, he definitely is not the one leading in the studio. After Kobe's failed attempt in the music business, the newest Lakers to enter the game hope to have better luck. First it was Ron Artest, releasing his single "Champions," right after they beat Boston in the finals. Now the real finals MVP, Pau Gasol, has stepped in the studio to record his new single, "Get It Together." The song was recorded in hopes to raise money for UNICEF, a charity organization that works for the rights of children, their survival, development, & protection. Maybe if the two Laker stars have success with their prospective singles, we could get a real "Best Of Both Worlds" album featuring the two.

In case you missed it, Ron Artest-Champions

I'm sure you missed this or trying to forget this 1, Kobe Bryant ft. Tyra Banks-K.O.B.E

Whats In Your iPod???

I am currently jamming the new song from Trak Starz/Hitz Committee/Jive recording artist Tydis. This up & coming star has what it takes to be in the business for a very long tyme. Often compared to the styles of Michael Jackson & Lloyd, Tydis' versatility is what separates him from the rest. His new song "Make Me Say," featuring the New Boyz, is sure to dominate speakers in cars & clubs for the summer.

Nets Making Room For The King???

According to ESPN.com, the New Jersey Nets have agreed to send Yi Jianlian along with $3million to the Washinton Wizzards for Quinton Ross. The move will reportedly open up another $3million in salary cap dollars, in which the Nets can use to try to lure 2 superstar free agents to sign with them. Adding two superstars to a core of Devin Harris, Brook Lopez, & rookie DeMarcus Cousins, could make the Nets a real contender out the East for the championship.

Flair Confronts Flair???

Now I'm not a huge fan of TNA Wrestling, but I have to admit its starting to grow on me. Its mainly due to the crop of young talent they have there like AJ Styles, the Motor City Machine Guns, & Beer Money to name a few. There is another guy though that I believe has a bright future ahead of him & needs to sign with the WWE as soon as his TNA contract is up. That guy goes by the name of Jay Lethal. Now Lethal's in ring work is great, but it is his mic skills that are superb & will elevate him to the next level. Currently involved in his "Black Nature" gimmick, Lethal has what it takes to be a star in this business for a very long tyme. Here is a clip of "Black Nature" interacting with the Nature Boy himself & his new stable. This is probably one of the best & funniest spots I have seen on wrestling in awhile.

Here's some throwback footage of Lethal's "Black Machismo" gimmick...

A New Dream Team???

With the NBA free agency rapidly approaching, multiple sources are reporting that the formation of a new "Dream Team" could be in the works. Fox Sports analyst, Steven A. Smith is reporting that LeBron James & Chris Bosh will be joining Dwayne Wade in Miami, while other sources are reporting James & Bosh will land in Chicago to help Derrick Rose & Joakim Noah. While these teams can not talk to these players until July 1 & can not make these moves official until July 8, it is not stopping their fans or sports reporters from speculating where they might go. So with July 1 being less than 48 hours away, where do you think the NBA's top free agents will land?

Bryan Danielson is the Truth!!!

This is for all my wrestling fans out there. Here;s some classic footage of a young up & coming Bryan Danielson (or Daniel Bryan 4 you NXTers) wrestling a couple of todays top WWE superstars & holding his own. This guy should have been part of the WWE roster a long tyme ago. If Vince is smart, he'll hire this guy back as soon as possible because a move to TNA would definitely hurt the company.

Lawrence Taylor Indicted on Rape Charges and More.....

Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor has been indicted on charges of rape, criminal sexual act, and sexual abuse by a New York grand jury.

The indictment stems from his May 6 arrest for involvement with an underage street walker. Taylor claims he had know idea that the prostitute was only 16-years-of-age. She was allegedly hand delivered via a pimp. According to reports the pimp beat her, not Taylor. The Bishop Don Magic Juan wannabe was also arrested.

According to an ESPN report , Taylor was also indicted on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and patronizing a prostitute.

L.T.'s had so many opportunities in his life and this is clearly another setback for him. I hope that this will somehow shake Taylor up. He's facing some real jail time here. Dude has to recognize that celebrity is fleeting, and just because you were a sack master and defensive juggernaut 20 years ago doesn't mean you can get away with making bad choices in 2010. Maybe you could do coke and get 15.5 sacks in 88, but that star doesn't shine as brightly today.

Definitely not a good day for L.T.

Vitamin Water Ad Featuring Kobe Bryant- "The Kloser Part II"

Kobe Bryant and the Lakers successfully closed out the Boston Celtics in game 7 of the NBA finals last Thursday in one of the most competitive championship games in recent memory. Vitamin Water, a Bryant sponsor, then wasted little time debuting the second part of "The Kloser".

NBA Video: Tony Allen's Amazing Block On Pau Gasol (GM 5 NBA Finals)

Tony Allen, Tony Allen, Tony Allen. The man showed some serious 'go get it' when he flat out destroyed Pau Gasol's layup attempt. That play summed up the night for the rest of the Lakers, who failed to provide Kobe with any significant offensive assistance.

That was one of the better blocks I've seen in the playoffs. Tony Allen has been a huge asset for Boston defensively, although his offense has been very questionable.

I'm sure Charles Smith is still trying to forget this moment. If you are fan and watched this live, drop a comment about it. Did you feel bad for Charles Smith or were you pro MJ and Chicago?

Dick Vitale Gets Hit by Line Drive at Rays Baseball Game (Video)

You may like Dick Vitale and you may not, but the one thing that you can say about Dickie V is that the man has passion and energy. During the Rays game last evening the former coach and longtime broadcaster took a foul ball line drive to the ribcage. Vitale, who has season tickets, claims that this was the first time he's ever had any close contact with foul balls. Check it out.

Throwback Hoops Video: Darko Milicic Dunks on Tim Duncan

I was sitting here thinking about NBA free agency when I had the urge to look up some outstanding moments in the career of Darko Milicic. It doesn't feel right using the word outstanding and Darko in the same sentence, but I'm going for it.

If you remember he was the #2 overall pick in the 2003 draft and has become arguably one of the biggest busts in league history. His draft class included future superstars like Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, and D-Wade.

Now I located a few decent blocks, but this is the best highlight of Darko's pathetic NBA career. Here you can see him throw down a slam over the great Timmy Duncan while he was on the Grizzlies roster.

From what I understand through various reports this year is that Milicic wants to head back to Europe to salvage what's left of his career. He played for Detroit, Orlando, Memphis, Minnesota, and New York over six years. Milicic is still quite young, so having some success overseas isn't a far fetched concept. Unfortunately for him, he just never found his game while in the NBA and I'm willing to bet the little cash I have left in my 401k that Joe Dumars is still kicking himself for making such a shitty pick.
