NBA Video: Tyrus Thomas with a Ferocious Jam Over Zach Randolph

Tyrus Thomas seems to be adjusting just fine to his new Bobcat teammates. Charlotte's latest acquisition took flight on Friday night and left his stamp on a very exciting game.

Z-Bo tries to contest, but just isn't able to match the explosiveness that TT was able to generate. I don't think Zach could have ever blocked that dunk to be honest. He's never been much of a high flyer. Check it out.

NBA Line of The Night...

Jason Kidd recorded triple-double number 104 on Friday night. Kidd led his Mavericks to a hard fought road win and did so by dropping a line that comes around about as often as Halleys Comet.

Kidd's Line: 19 points, 17 assists, 16 rebounds, and two steals.

Air Jordan Video: WK Interact "Never Sleeps"

Here is the latest Brand Jordan ad to drop. The crew in the vid was creating the "Never Sleeps" billboard, which is located in Manhattan. New York street artist WK Interact brings the Air Jordan image and the power of D-Wade together in this 'making of' style commerical. Check it out.

NBA Video: Andrew Bogut with the Flush on Brandon Rush

Sure getting dunked on is part of the game, but when it happens we still make a big deal about it. We make an especially huge production when the guy on the other end gets rammed really hard.

In the next clip Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut puts one down on the fastbreak. His victim Brandon Rush jumped like he didn't believe that Bogut could turn it over on him. You better wake up Brandon, this is the NBA and white men can jump!

NBA Video: Kobe Returns and Delivers a Game Winner Against Memphis

The Los Angeles Lakers went 4-1 without their superstar, and did so in impressive fashion. The Mamba made his return to the lineup on Tuesday in Memphis and the scene was as familiar as ever.

With the Lakers down two points and just 8.8 seconds left to play in the game, Kobe used a Paul Gasol pick to get free for a game winning three pointer.

This was the fifth game that Kobe has won this season on a final shot attempt. He finished the game with 32 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. With the win the Lakers improved to 43-14 on the season and hold a 5.5 game lead over Denver in the western conference

Vince Carter Makes 86 Foot Shot While Sitting Down

Dwight Howard, LeBron James, Monta Ellis, and now Vince Carter have dazzled hoops fans with some of the most ridiculous trick shots this year. VC, who of course is known for his leaping abilities, showed that he too can make shots from damn near anywhere.

I really wonder how much that shot was worth for Carter. These little trick shot "competitions" can get rather pricey, so I can only imagine how much loot VC raked in for making that one.

NBA Video: LeBron James Blocks Dwight Howard with Authority

This clip is via Sunday's Cleveland versus Orlando game. The Magic were victorious, handing the Cavs another tough loss 101-95, but LeBron made sure to find his way into highlight packages across the country. The way he turned Dwight Howard away made Superman look more like Blankman.

Video: Nike's Human Chain Commercial (Full Version)

Here is another creative effort by the folks at Nike. It's titled Human Chain. I love the song that accompanies the visual part of this commercial. It speaks to the ability to overcome adversity in life and in sports.... Everyone gets knocked down, but how quickly are you going to get up! Great ad!!

Link Dump: What Caught Factoids Eye...

The NBA trade deadline had my twitter account overflowing with information this afternoon. It's the time of year when a team can go from pretender to contender or vice versa in a heartbeat.

Over the last couple of days Amare Stoudamire's name was thrown around by Miami and Cleveland, but in the end the all star forward is staying put in sunny Phoenix. Tracy McGrady, who hasn't been game relevant this season, was sent packing to New York in a three team deal. The Bulls finally got rid of Tyrus Thomas and Boston picked up 3x NBA slam dunk champion Nate Robinson.

It was an exciting day for the league, and I will be curious to see how the trades and moves impact the rest of the season.

Here are a couple of headlines and stories that caught my eye.

Nike Video: Omri Casspi's Ride to the NBA

Rookie Omri Casspi is averaging 12.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game for the Sacramento Kings. Casspi is the first Israeli born player to ever be drafted in the first round of the NBA draft and has been a solid contributor through 52 regular season games for the lowly Kings. At 6-9, he has the ability to stretch the floor with the three ball (.395%) and shoots a solid percentage from the field (.472%) for a first year talent.

Here you can see Casspi in a Nike commercial that illustrates his progression from a young baller to NBA stud.

Marquis Daniels Gets Diamond Necklace of His Own Head

We've all grown accustomed to seeing how extravagant professional athletes can be when it comes to spending money on personal gifts. Some of these guys and gals run through cash faster than their accountants can count it, and others just throw it away(ala Pac-Man Jones). Having multiple cars, several homes, grown-up toys, and a lot of bling around your neck is critical in today's hip hop sports culture.

Boston Celtics guard Marquis Daniels is taking bling bling to a new extreme. Daniels, who I haven't seen play much this year, decided to have a necklace made in his likeness. The charm piece of the necklace is a diamond encrusted head of Daniels, complete with hair and all.

This is one of the dumbest ways I could think of to spend money. I wish somebody would have told Marquis that having your own head around your neck isn't cool, it's kinda creepy. Shout out to Barstoolsports for uploading the video first.

Track & Field Video: Usain Bolt Opens Season in Dynamic Fashion

Usain "Lightning" Bolt is back and appears to be on pace for another historic season on the track. The current world record holder in the 100 & 200 meters ran the 400 at the Camperdown Classic over the weekend, and in typical Bolt fashion ran away from the field.

The Jamaican phenom clocked a 45.86, breaking his own record of 45.36 which he set at the event last year. If his early season performance is any sign of things to come, then fans of track & field are in for some terrific races.

NBA Video: NBA All -Star MVP D-Wade Off Glass to Himself

NBA All-Star weekend was damn good this year, well everything except the dunk contest. If you missed the action I feel bad for you because it was one of the more entertaining all-star games in quite some time. Check out D-Wade as he passes the ball to himself off the glass and then finishes with a monster jam.

Boxing Video: Floyd Mayweather Talks NBA, His Training, and Manny Pacquiao

Floyd Mayweather took time out to interview with NBA.com's The Jump during All Star weekend. Mayweather has a scheduled May 1 bout against Sugar Shane Mosley in Las Vegas.

During the interview topics ranged from the Atlanta Hawks to why the Manny Pacquiao fight didn't happen. Now, I didn't hear anyone ask Floyd about Pacquiao, but the Pretty Boy decided to take it there anyway.

Instead of talking about Pacquiao and the past, Mayweather needs to turn his attention to what's on his plate. I haven't heard Shane Mosley talking about Andre Berto or some what-if fights. The best thing that Floyd can do is to prepare himself mentally and physically for a battle with Mosley, and let the circus of the Pacquaio fight die.

NBA Line of The Night...Triple-Double Style

The Golden State Warriors have been decimated by injury this season, leaving coach Don Nelson with very few alternatives when it comes to his lineups. Stephen Curry is one Warrior that's been able to stay healthy and his play on Wednesday night resulted in his first career triple-double.

Curry's line: 36 points, 13 dimes, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Stephen hit 7-11 three pointers, while shooting 50% from the field.

Video: Drew Brees Teaching Pre-Game Chant to Fans at Lucy's Bar

Drew Brees was the emotional leader of the New Orleans Saints this year and most of us saw him getting the team hyped up during many pre-game warm ups. He is the first QB I've ever seen do it. It takes a lot of passion and energy to get players amped up, and is typically the duty of crazy linebackers or safeties, but Brees bucked that trend.

Here is the SuperBowl MVP teaching some excited Saints fans the pre-game chant that played a big part in the teams success this past season.

NBA Video: D-Wade with the Flush on Luis Scola

I don't understand why guys jump to block a dunk when it's clear they have little chance of succeeding. Luis Scola set himself up for failure Tuesday night down in Miami when he got in Flash's way during a fast break. The end result is exactly what you would imagine, that being Luis getting posterized. Check it out for yourself.

Hoops Video: Harlem Globetrotters Playing & Dunking on Ice

The Harlem Globetrotters have played just about everywhere during their storied history, and now the franchise can say they even played a basketball game on ice. Yes, I said ice! The Trotters have never shied away from the unusual and this performance definitely speaks to that point.

Fans in New York's Central Park got a treat when the magicians of the hardwood put on a show against their rival Washington Generals. I can't even walk on ice much less play basketball on it, so kudos to the Harlem Globetrotters for be innovative and creative.

Shout out to my man Ethan Jaynes over at NESW Sports for dropping the video.

NBA Line of the Night

It was a jam packed night of games in the Association as it prepares for All-Star weekend. There were some strong performances from LeBron James and Kevin Durant on Tuesday, but the line of the night belongs to Carlos Boozer of the Utah Jazz.

Boozers Line: 34 points, 14 rebounds, 4 dimes, and 4 steals on 13-17 from the field.

Link Dump: What Caught Factoid's Eye

Off the Top:

The city of New Orleans is set to have it's victory parade and it should be one of the most entertaining events in their history. If you've got a heart you feel great for the city and the franchise. It's a teriffic story.

I'm concerned about the Michael Vick rumors that are swirling right here in St. Louis. From what I hear, Dan Dierdorf was on local radio in favor of the Rams taking a serious look at Vick. It's clear that St. Louis needs a change at quarterback and that Michael Vick wants to be a starter in the NFL again. Teaming Vick with Stephen Jackson is exactly what the Rams need. Having him can only help the team get better. It also will sell tickets and that is something St. Louis needs to get done. GM Billy Davaney should also take a look at Donte Stallworth before he gets away. Stallworth is talented enough when he's healthy to contribute and he's supposed to be working out for somedody this week.

Then again, it might not be a good idea to have two guys(Little) who have hit and killed people on your football team, as well as a dog killer. That might be a tough PR sell.

Anyway, here is what caught my eye so far today....

This is the New Balance "Mardi Gras" Pack which is featured in the official colorways of the French Quarter. The pack has two 525's, one with a black base, the other white. Seems like a fitting way to take part in this moment in New Orleans history. "Who Dat" gonna go get them New Balance?

Streetball Video: "The Professor" Throws Ball of Manny Pacquiao's Face

I was a huge fan of the And 1 mix tapes back in the day. The moves that those guys were pulling off were sick. The first four or five mix tapes were just raw filth, and took streetball to a level it couldn't have imagined. Over the years And 1 brought in new innovative talent that elevated its brand year after year.

"The Professor" was one of many to come down the And 1 pipeline during its heyday and still plays today. Boxing superstar and world champion Manny Pacquiao found his way onto a court the Professor was playing on, and as you'll see he gets worked over.

The Pac Man looked dazed when that ball hit him in the face! That was priceless. Pacquiao is set to face Josh Clottey in welterweight showdown on March 13. You can find out more about the professor at www.graysonboucher.net.

McDonald's Commercial Featuring Dwight Howard & LeBron James (Full Version)

As promised last week here is the full version of the McDonald's commercial with Dwight Howard and LeBron James.

I've heard a lot of folks on twitter and other blogs saying that they don't like the ad, claiming it was thrown together just in time for a SuperBowl run. I personally think it's ok. Of course it's not MJ and Larry Legend from 93, but it is two of the most popular athletes in the NBA doing some unbelievable dunks in a battle for lunch. There were far worse commercials to air during the SuperBowl than this one, so calm down people.

MVP Puppets: Kobe & LeBron with Handshakes

The NFL season is all over and sports fans attention will now turn to the National Basketball Association. What that means is a whole lot of MVP puppet ads from Nike.

In the latest commercial you find Kobe, LeBron, Lil Dez, and "The Ice Man" George Gervin all hanging out in the barber shop exchanging stories, when a puppet resembling Zydrunas Ilgauskas walks in. James greets Big Z with a signature handshake that according to one of the barbers, requires the Cavs players to show up to training camp three weeks early to learn.

Check it out here.

NBA Video: LeBron Takes Flight Against Memphis, but Cavs Still Lose

LeBron does just about anything he wants on the basketball court whenever he chooses to do it, and the following clip is just another example of that. Somebody may want to tell the Grizzlies that stopping the ball in transition is a basketball fundamental.

Video: The King and Superman in McDonald's Commercial

Looks like LeBron James and Dwight Howard have remade the classic Jordan v Bird McDonald's commercial from many moons ago. Over the last season or two, both Howard and James have engaged in some pre-game trick shot antics that have left fans shaking their collective heads and begging for more. That wait is apparently all over. James announced just last week that he and McDonald's were partnering up, and as you can see he and Dwight didn't waste any time in getting a new ad out. This is just a teaser clip, but as soon as the full version becomes available I will post it.

For Dwight's sake he better hope that LeBron doesn't shoot any free throws or their battle will be over as fast as Orlando's NBA finals appearance last year!
