Duke Defeats Butler for 2010 NCAA National Championship

On Monday night the Duke Blue Devils defeated the Butler Bulldogs 61-59, in one of the more compelling NCAA National Championship games in years. During a 40 minute battle both teams scrapped and clawed their way toward the finish line, neither willing to give very much ground to the other. The game had multiple lead changes, and was as physical a game as I've witnessed on the college level in quite some time.

In the end, the Blue Devils and Coach K celebrate the programs fourth national title in school history. As you are likely aware, coach K is now second(tied with Adolph Rupp) behind only coach John Wooden(10) on the National title win list. Kyle Singler, who struggled earlier in the tournament finished with 19 big points and was named the Final Four MOP.

Hats off to the kids at Butler. Coach Brad Stevens did a terrific job with his team all year. They performed to the best of their ability on a grand stage, and should be applauded for a historic run and a tremendous accomplishment. I think we all look forward to watching them grow under coach Stevens in the years to come.

The video is via the AP. Cameron Indoor exploded when the game was over. Check it out.
