Video: LeBron Interview on Charlie Rose....

It's gotta be hard to pick an all-star team, much less an all-time greats team, but LeBron James did just that last night on the Charlie Rose show. James has been making the rounds over the last few weeks promoting his new book and an upcoming movie about his highschool ball days.

I can't knock any of LeBron's picks other than his current all-star pg slot. I'm sure a lot of folks would agree with his selection of Chris Paul, but I'm a huge fan of Deron Williams and think he's the best point guard in the league, but it wasn't my interview so that's irrelevant. Check it out.

DMX is Ready for the Octagon....

At one point, DMX was one of the top rappers in the music business. During the late 90's he was arguably the biggest name in hip-hop, selling more than 14 million records over the course of three albums. He has sold more than 30 million records during his career. He starred in one of the biggest urban films of all times in, Belly. When I was in college I watched that movie everyday for like two months straight.

That was then, and this is now. Earl Simmons reportedly is planning on stepping into the world of mixed martial arts later this year. His opponent is Eric Martinez, a record label CEO out of New Mexico. According to BloodyElbow.com, the bout will take place in Birmingham, Alabama on December 12. The fight will be on the under card of a Tank Abbott versus Butterbean main event. The whole thing sounds like a joke to me.

DMX has always had a real tough guy image and has a rap sheet to match, but this is another case of a celebrity trying to mend a busted image and collect some cash in the process. I am curious though to see how and if he can really fight. Anyone who has ever followed Simmons knows that he is an owner of pitbulls, so I wonder if he will be similar to a caged pitbull when he steps inside the ring.

I will keep my eye on this bout in the coming months to see if it gets cancelled, but if it actually happens, hip hop and MMA will never be the same.

Video: Dana White says Rampage will Fight Again....

Over the last couple of weeks Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has been saying that he is done with the UFC and MMA, but apparently Dana White doesn't see it that way. Jackson claims he wants to pursue his acting career. Here is White on talk radio this morning discussing Rampage and UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

NBA: What is Wrong with Deshawn Stevenson?

Today marked the opening of NBA training camps across the league. It's basically media day across the association. Several media outlets are talking about Washington Wizards guard, Deshawn Stevenson and his fresh ink. The former Kansas Jayhawk had a lot of tattoos already, but he has made a few additions during the offseason that are raising eyebrows.

Stevenson has President Abraham Lincoln on his neck, a Pittsburgh Pirates P on his face, and a Frankenstein-esque crack on his forehead. The Abe Lincoln face is part of a five dollar bill, but the Pirates P is backwards. WTF is Stevenson doing in his free time? The answer: Getting bad tattoos.

Video: Terrell Owens Post Game Interview (9/27/09)

Terrell Owens is a man that has an abundance of pride and competitive fire inside him. Sometimes that pride and fire gets the best of him during interviews with the press, so I was very impressed with the way T.O. handled himself during yesterday's post game press conference. I'm not saying that he was the easiest person to speak with, but the fact that he didn't give the reporters anything to twist was smart. It was obvious that he was upset with the way the game went, but instead of burying his team and the coaching staff, Owens played it cool.

Maybe his agent Drew Rosenhaus has instructed Owens to just be quiet this season. Maybe Owens realizes that his value will be higher next year if he doesn't say anything to bring negative attention to himself and Buffalo. Maybe, just maybe, the diva known as T.O. has grown up.

It seems that the Air Jordan 1 has been taken over by the man that taught MJ how to play. This is LeRoy Smith's new shoe by the Jordan Brand that will be hitting select retail stores later this year. These are definitely a must have for any Jordan fan as these could be bigger than the Hare Jordans.

Video: Serena Williams and Tyra Banks Play Model Tennis?

Anytime you can get Tyra Banks and Serena Williams in the same place, it is definitely worth talking about. These two ladies have dominated there respective industries like few others for years, displaying great style and tremendous booty, I mean beauty.

Serena made an appearance on the Tyra show a few days ago, and after some standard studio discussion they took it to the streets for a little "model tennis". Tyra even showed Serena how to incorporate a "runway walk" into her service game. Check it out.

Finally Jones Jr Hopkins II

According to ESPN.com, a rematch has finally been set between Roy Jones Jr & Bernard Hopkins, if Roy can defeat Danny Green on Dec. 2. The fighters have disputed over money in the past, which has led to the rematch being stalled on several occasions. They agreed to terms of a 50/50 split, but if a fighter gets knocked out then its 60% to the winner & 40% to the loser. Personally I just hope that Roy can get past Green so we all can see the rematch fight fans have been waiting on. The bout would take place sometime in 2010.

Video: Letterman vs Lebron on the Late Show

Earlier this week David Letterman had LeBron James on the program. I missed the sit down interview, but it couldn't have been as much fun as what you are about to see here. The two have good chemistry and it showed during a friendly shooting contest. Here is the king of late night versus the king of the NBA for your viewing pleasure.

Hershel Walker's MMA Interview....

This Herschel Walker MMA thing is so far from believable that I have totally refused to even comment on it. A buddy of mine shot me a text and asked had I heard about it. The only thing I could do was to ignore it. Dude is almost 50 years old and wanting to step into the octagon for the first time. Maybe this is what a mid-life crisis is all about.

Walker was a stud running back when I was a little kid. He had the total package. He was fast, strong, and could break away for big plays in the blink of an eye. I can remember watching him on the original "The Superstars" and even playing with him on Tecmo Bowl, but that was 20 years ago.

According to reports over the last few days, Walker has actually signed an MMA contract with Strikeforce and really plans to get into the cage. WTF is going on inside his head is what I want to know! It's not as if he just retired from football a few years back.

Here is an interview via the folks over at Cagewriter.com.

The Golden Boy Set-Up

Here is the post fight interview with Floyd Mayweather. May has some unexpected guest interupt him. I also find it interesting that HBO wouldn't let Floyd answer the questions & how Max kept cutting Floyd off every time he tried to answer a question. To me this just seems like a set up between Golden Boy Promotions & HBO in an effort to try to make more money & get a fight between Floyd & their guy & not the match that everyone wants to see in Mayweather vs Pacquiao. But if you missed it, here it is. Check it out & you be the judge.

Video: Shaq Vs Michael Phelps

Shaq Vs came to a close Tuesday night when Shaquille O'Neal battled "The Baltimore Bullet", Michael Phelps. Shaq challenged Phelps in a series of swimming races at the Mangione Aquatic Center at Loyola University, MD and the victor of the best-out-of-three swim-offs would be named the winner.

The first race required Phelps to race 50 yards(freestyle) with a five second head start while Shaq only went 25 yards. The result, Shaq was victorious over the 14x gold medal winner! The second race was a 200 IM. Phelps handled all four phases of the event, but Shaq had some help from three top American female swimmers. Even with the assistance of the ladies, Shaq came out the loser.

The third and final race was a freestyle battle, requiring Phelps to go 75 yards and Shaq to go 50 yards. Even with the 25 yard disadvantage, the great Michael Phelps defeated O'Neal in a close finish.

The "Big Aristotle" was once again gracious in defeat. He was supposed to perform a synchronized swimming routine, but somehow managed to escape with a fan requested cannonball instead. Take a look at his pink swim cap in the video.

Although O'Neal finished the season without a victory over any of the other great athletes, the show had some memorable moments and portrayed Shaq as someone who takes competition and training very seriously. I'm anxious to see if the show makes a comeback next year, or if the network will try some sort of spinoff with another sporting icon.

Video: Little girl throws ball back.....Dad Looks Sick!

During the Phillies game last night Jason Werth hit a foul ball to the upper deck and it was caught by a sure handed fan. The fella handed the ball to his little girl, who then tossed the new souvenir over the rail and back down to the field. The look on the dads face is priceless! It was cute, but next time he will think before he makes that mistake again! Check it out!

I wanted to make sure that in case you missed the Naismith Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony that you at least had a chance to relive some of it here on Sport's with Mr. Factoid. I posted the Jordan induction already, but here you get a chance to see David Robinson and John Stockton join an elite list of hall of famers. MJ may have been the focal point of the night for millions of viewers, but the light also shined brightly on Robinson and Stockton.

The NBA's All-Time Assist Leader

and the NBA's All-Time Leader in Steals

Video: The NFL's Opening Sunday Had a Few Great Plays

Adrian Peterson is a throw back to the runners of years gone by and his week one performance is a testament to that fact. Peterson ran all over the Cleveland Browns, to the tune of 180 yards and three touchdowns. The NFL's leading rusher last year has already put his stamp on this season. He had an insane 64 yard touchdown scramble that you will see here. Check it out!

If Josh McDaniels thought that the football Gods had abandoned him, he may want to think again. Denver's rookie coach will surely be saying his prayers before every game from here on out because his Broncos walked away with a miracle win over the Bengals. The team was down to their last possession when Brandon Stokley caught a tipped pass and darted 87 yards to score the game winnning touchdown.

Derek Jeter Becomes Yankee's All-Time Hit Leader

Derek Jeter passed Lou Gehrig to become the Yankee's all-time hit leader on 9/11/09, further cementing his legacy as Mr. Yankee. Gehrig's record of 2,721 hits stood for seven decades, and at one point looked unbreakable, but on a rainy night in New York, Derek Jeter singled his way into history.
The question of the next moment becomes is Jeter the greatest Yankee of all time? It's an argument that has a lot of historic names and Jeter has truly earned his place among them.

Michael Jordan Enters the Naismith Hall of Fame

Michael "Air" Jordan took his place in history on September 11, 2009. The greatest basketball player of all time was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Friday night, leading a star star studded group of former players and coaches.

MJ was emotional, comical, honest, and even displayed a hint of arrogance during his speech. I wouldn't have expected anything less from him! He even left another comeback attempt on the table at around age 50. It was a moment that I will never forget. Check it out.

Iverson Moving to Memhis.....We Think

According to various reports and Allen Iverson himself(via Twitter), the Answer is headed south for the winter. His deal is reported to be worth $3.5 million over one year.

Iverson's tweeted early this morning about the move.

"God Chose Memphis as the place that I will continue my career," he wrote. In a post a few minutes later, he said, "I feel that they are committed to developing a winner and I know that I can help them to accomplish that. I feel that I can trust them."

I'm glad that Iverson has found a new home to hoist shots up. On paper the Grizzlies look like a team that could compete for a lower tier playoff spot in the Western Conference. With Iverson, O.J. Mayo, Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph, and Marc Gasol the fans in Memphis are in for some high scoring, uptempo basketball.

If you haven't already seen this, it's a clip from the HBO fight documentary Mayweather/Marquez 24/7. The video speaks for itself. Check it out, I think!

That is just gross. I don't care about the body's natural vitamins and minerals enough to ever consider drinking my own piss. It will be funny to see how the Mayweather camp responds on the upcoming shows to Marquez's unique and bizarre training tactic!

Ron Artest may be known for his rough style of play and bad boy attitude, but the Lakers newest addition has a heart too! Artest gave a homeless man a pop quiz, and then awarded the fellow with a meal from Roscos Chicken & Waffles. The best part about it is the fact that the guy really didn't know anything about basketball or the Lakers, but instead of being a dick to the gentleman, Artest stepped up and hooked him up! Kudos to Ron Artest!

Video: Wanderlei "The Ax Murderer" Silva....First Video Blog

When the "Axe Murderer" speaks it makes good sense to listen. Wanderlei Silva is one of the most recognized faces in the MMA world, and one of the first athletes I saw, besides the late Bam Bam Bigelow to have a tat on his head. He has fought many of the top mixed martial arts stars during his 13 year career. Silva is getting into the video blog game. Don't be alarmed, he's not retiring or anything! His website is wandfc.com , and the first installment covers his latest tattoo, his recent facial surgery, and his plans for the future. Check it out. Video: Terrelle Pryor on his Michael Vick eye black

The Ohio State University has one of the best quarterbacks in all of college starting for them. Terrell Pryor is one hell of an athlete on the football field, displaying a tremendous arm to go along with great speed and quickness. Nobody in their right mind can argue about his talent, but his public speaking still needs a little refinement.

When asked about his eye black, that had the name Mike Vick inscribed in it, Pryor provided a rather unique answer.

"Not everybody’s the perfect person in the world. I mean everyone kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever," said Pryor.

I'm only offended because I haven't killed anyone. I've got a list as long as Chris Henry's rap sheet of folks who deserve it, but I had absolutely no idea that it was the "in thing". I just want to thank Mr. Pryor for filling me in on this latest development.

Video: Blount KO's Hout after Boise State Victory

The college football season is under way just in case you were in a coma or something and missed it. Early headlines are more about foolishness, than on the field action. Last night Oregon battled Boise State in a battle of top 25 teams and the post game action was far more entertaining than the game.

Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount lost his cool after the game in a major way. Blount sucker punched Boise State's Byron Hout with a vicious right hand that dropped Hout to his knees. The video footage clearly shows that Hout taunted Blount during the post game celebration, but LeGarrette wasn't able to maintain his composure. The NCAA came down on Blount today, handing down a suspension that encompasses the remainder of the regular season and any bowl games if Oregon makes it to the postseason.

That is a very stiff penalty for a fight, so I hope that Oregon will fight to have the suspension shortened.

Video: Iverson Speaks about Current Free Agency

Allen Iverson is still searching for a deal from an NBA team. All summer long we have heard that several squads had interest, but none of those organizations have pulled the trigger on the Answer. The Heat, Knicks, Grizzlies, and even the Clippers were all rumored to have some interest in A.I., yet he sits at home with no contract and little assurance that he will land somewhere this upcoming season. At one point the media was reporting and several insiders actually believed that he would head to Greece, a move that I felt would never happen.

As this summer comes to a close, the future hall of famer with the huge heart is a man in waiting. I'm sure that this is a humbling experience for a veteran like A.I. It's not as if his skills have diminished to the point where he has little value. It was only two years ago that he and Carmello Anthony were top five points per game scorers in Denver.
Former 76er teammate Eric Snow sat down with Iverson for a little Q & A recently. Shout out to Hoopeduponline.com for posting the vid. Check it out!

Former Power Ranger Looking to Get Inside the UFC Octagon

Ok, this has got to be a joke or a publicity stunt. Before I tell you though, shout out to Maggie Hendricks over at Cagewriter.

I didn't grow up watching the Power Rangers and I thank God for it, but I am familiar with a few of the characters. Maybe I didn't give it a chance because it was such a theft of a childhood favorite, Vultron! Anyway, Jason David Frank, who is better known as Tommy(the green ranger) wants to test his skills inside the UFC octagon. Frank is a sixth degree black belt and just signed on with a new management company(SuckerPunch Entertainment) in order to kickstart his MMA dream.

It's cool when you are involved in choreographed action scenes that entertain little kids, but fighting in the UFC isn't for viewers in elementary school. JDF is 35, an although he has martial arts training, it may be a little late to get inside the cage with guys that live and breath that lifestyle. I think we all can remember how well it worked for Mickey Rourke with boxing.

Frank was inducted into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame back in 2003. At this point Dana White hasn't commented, nor do I believe he ever will!

New York Jets running back Thomas Jones celebrated his 29th birthday over the weekend, and frankly I'm jealous. My 29th b-day wasn't even close to being as cool as this appeared to be. Jones had dancers in body paint at the Halo nightclub, plus tons of celebrity friends in the building.

Everyone loves Brett Favre except Houston Texan cornerback Eugene Wilson. During the third quarter of the Viking vs. Texan game, Favre lined up outside as a receiver in a wildcat formation. The clip follows Favre as he delivers an illegal crackback block on Wilson.

Favre may have fans everywhere in his back pocket because of his smile and southern boy charm, but the hit on Wilson was as dirty as it gets. The shelf life of NFL players is already short, but hits like those can end careers in a hurry. You would think that a vet like Favre, who has played in more consecutive games than any QB in history would understand that.
