Charles Barkley Calls His Producer a P*ssy on Air

Sir Charles just doesn't understand when to keep his mouth shut. During the post game analysis Chuck stepped out of bounds by calling his producer a pussy! Somethings just shouldn't be said. TNT has been more than gracious in keeping the Chuckster around, but blatant stupidity can't be overlooked forever!

Bring Back Lil Penny!!!

With the recent failure of Lebron James & the Cleveland Cavilers not getting to the NBA Finals this year, I am personally lobbying for them to bring back Lil Penny. All the advertising dollars put into a campaign centered around the NBA playoffs featuring arguably the games two biggest players is sure to lose money in a NBA Finals only featuring one, Kobe Bryant. So with the success of the Orlando Magic, why not bring back one of the franchise's biggest stars. I mean picture it, a commercial with Lil Penny going back & forth with the puppet Kobe. It would be great. Maybe even have Lebron call in from the lake while fishing. I don't know, maybe its just me. I think it would just give a new fun twist to the finals that wasn't.

Video: Artest Speaks his Mind

Ron Artest had a chance to respond via his video blog to some comments made by Charles Barkley and Chris Webber. Chuck and C-Webb came down hard on Artest during the Portland Trailblazer vs Houston Rocket's series for statements he made about a friend of his that played ball back in the day. Artest claimed that the friend was as good as Brandon Roy, and that he had been one of the tougher players that he ever had to guard.

Artest, who doesn't hesitate to speak his mind makes some good points during the vid blog, especially the one's about the young kids in the projects who have a love for basketball, but don't believe that they have a real chance of making it to the NBA.

I don't think anyone would say that Ron-Ron is a genius, but he isn't a dummy by any stretch of the imagination. Much respect to Artest.

A gold plated Nintendo Wii for the Royal Family is an interesting gift choice, but you have got to love the bling-bling factor. Big Boi Has Fake J's?

I'm an Outkast fan from way back, and I'm talking about that Southernplayalisticadillacfunkymusic stuff. Kast has been my favorite group since then and it's always news for me if it involves Mr. Patton and Mr. Benjamin.

CNN did a report about sneakerheads, and Big Boi, who was performing at a Sneaker Pimps exhibition had a few comments about his personal shoe collection. Big Boi claimed to have a shoe collection of at least 400 pair, many of which he didn't actually purchase, but received from shoe companies who "just send me pairs".

The issue arose when Big Boi claimed that the kicks he was sporting, a pair of red and blue "Bugs Bunny" Jordan VIII's, which are pictured above, were also a gift from the shoe Gods. He didn't actually say it, but rocking the kicks and expressing how you get free gifts, certainly implies that you got these on a hook up!

I'm not calling my dude a liar, because he has never lied to me on any album, but I'm not certain if these really are legit Jordans. The bootlegging has got to stop! My suggestion, track him down, maybe he'll be at Strokers, and ask him to cut those puppies open for the world to see. That will either clear his name or ruin his sneaker cred, but at least the public can sleep better at night knowing the truth!

Nike:Lebron James and Kobe Bryant: "Unstoppable Game Tape"

Nike is pumping out these ads without hesitation! The commercial is funny as hell. I'm wondering how many of these does Nike have in store, because thus far they have been on point and very entertaining. Lebron and Kobe are currently intertwined like they are Magic and Bird, but they aren't even close to that yet. There is a lot of overkill happening, especially considering that the Cavs are down 3-1 at the moment to Orlando.

Kobe + Lebron=Respect

It seems like the NBA & its fans have been wanting a Kobe vs Lebron match-up in this years NBA Finals. And who wouldn't want to see that match? Tyson's Daughter Passes Away

Former Heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is no stranger to adversity and troubled times. On Tuesday, Tyson's four year old daughter passed away after a freak accident on a treadmill.

Exodus Tyson was playing by herself when she somehow managed to get her neck trapped in a treadmill cord. Her older brother discovered her body and immediately alerted his mother.

The paramedics arrived on the scene after the mother called 911, and rushed the young girl to the hospital for additional care. Exodus passed away in the hospital around 11:45 a.m. local time.

Mike Tyson has had his fair share of tough times, some brought on by his own personality quirks, but this is a tragedy he had nothing to do with. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family in their time of mourning.

Boxing: What If's?

So in a perfect world I could make all the fights happen myself, pick the names that I want to see square off! Here are three fights that I would like to see.

Paul Williams v Floyd Mayweather

Paul Williams v Manny Pacquiao

Paul Williams v Kelly Pavlik

Yes, I just put three fights in a row for Paul Williams because he throws punches non stop, and his chin appears more durable than his frame would indicate. I personally believe that he can be in big money fights. I constantly battle with this co-worker of mine. He says that for Mayweather, there isn't enough money in it to fight Paul Williams. He constantly scoffs at the mere thought of the fight. I say, if Mayweather is so great, let him get in the ring with Paul, and despite all the shoulder rolls and attempts at defense, Williams will have thrown way more punches than Floyd, winning the fight on pure activity yet again. Co-Worker claims that Floyd will land to many clean quick shots on Paul, but I counter with the distance that Paul is able to create. He isn't throwing punches from close, he's using the 82" reach. It can be great! In this one they can even fight at a catch weight of 150 pounds.

Williams v Pacquiao is a real treat. I have no doubt in my mind that Manny could war with Paul. The first thing people say, "it's not fair because Williams is physically superior and will have tremendous advantages", but Manny destroyed De La Hoya and Hatton, two men that walk around much bigger than they fight! This fight has so many different levels of intrigue. Imagine the adjustments that Pacquiao has to make, facing an opponent with a reach longer than Muhammed Ali. Williams has never faced a buzz saw like Pacquaio though either, having faced one lone "tough guy" in Antonio Margaritto. One thing that is certain with this David v Goliath matchup, is that it would have to be contested at 147 pounds.

Kelly Pavlik could use a challenge at middleweight. The division isn't producing a lot of attention at the moment, although Andre Ward just put himself into the title picture, so a fight against Paul Williams would be timely. The matchup of boxer vs puncher. Pavlik has consistently worn his opponents down,(except B-Hop) breaking their will sometime around the 7th round with concise heavy punching. Pavlik hasn't had to fight any young, talented boxers in quite some time, especially any with the resume of the Punisher. For Williams a major question mark could be answered. The question of his chin against big punchers. Williams has taken good shots on the chin versus most of his competition, but stayed upright for the course of his bouts, but would that be the case against Pavlik?

The fight has the potential to be an instant classic, and may present the middleweight division with a much needed spark to revitalize a once dominant weight class. I actually like Abraham & Sturm, but they haven't attracted American interest.

I doubt serioulsy that I will get my wish of any of these fights soon if ever, but if the boxing Gods are listening, maybe we can work out some sort of deal.

Brian Grant Faces Parkinson's

Brian Grant was one of the hard workers in the NBA for 12 seasons. He never backed down from an opportunity to hassle and harass some of the best big men the league. At only 37 years of age, Grant has been diagnosed with young onset Parkinson's disease. I didn't even know that someone so young could get Parkinson's, but it obviously impacts people of all ages.

It wasn't long ago that Grant was patrolling the paint, battling each play like it was his last, but he know faces a new challenge, one that doesn't allow you to fight back. Parkinson's is a cruel disease. We all have witnessed what Parkinson's has done to Muhammed Ali, and it's impact is felt in homes across the world.

My heart goes out to Brian Grant, and I wish he and his family well as he enters a new period in his life. I hope that this experience is one that he can manage effectively.

Grant will face a very tough journey from here, but with I'm sure that he will fight Parkinson's the same way that he battled bigger foes in the NBA, with heart and passion!

Judgement Day Results

In case you missed it WWE Judgement Day was presented live last night from Chicago, IL. With a night full of promising matches, would the PPV live up to the hype. Here are the results & a brief review of each match at last night's PPV.

CM Punk vs Umaga

A decent match with Umaga getting the win after the Samoan Spike. I look for this feud to continue for a little bit longer. I like the potential of Umaga, but I think he's either going to have to get a manger or have to start talking soon in order for him to get over with the crowd.
Winner-Umaga

Jack Swagger vs Christian
An ok match. I just haven't been impressed with Christian since he's been back. Christian gets the win with a reverse school boy using the straps of Swagger's tights. Swagger has a lot of potential & could be at the top of the company soon. I like the way the WWE continues to build Swagger's character even with the loses to Christian due to the way Christian can't seem to get a clean win over the All-American American.
Winner-Christian

John Morrison vs Shelton Benjamin
This match was filled with energy between to two most athletic superstars in the WWE. It didn't live up to the expectations or the potential that it could have been, but still turned out to be a pretty damn good match. After some interference from Charlie Haas, Morrison gets the win with the Starship Pain.
Winner-John Morrison

The Miz then cuts a promo talking bad about Cena, Morrison, the Cubs, & Soriano. Santino comes to interrupt, two go back & forth leading to the Miz attacking Santino. Chavo then comes down to attack helpless Santino.

Chris Jericho vs Rey Mysterio
A pretty good match with a lot of good counters from both superstars. Jericho tried to unmask Mysterio several times throughout the match only to be unsuccessful. After having it reversed the first few attempts, Mysterio finally gets the wins with a version if the 619.
Winner & Still IC Champ-Rey Mysterio

Batista vs Randy Orton

An ok match with a horrible finish. The build up of this entire Legacy vs the McMahons has a great story on TV only to leave us with disappointing PPV matches. I can only hope that the WWE has a bigger picture that we have yet to see. With that being said Batista gets the win by DQ when Orton slaps ref. Legacy attacks then Ric Flair comes to save the day.
Winner by DQ-Batista/Orton Still WWE Champ

Big Show vs John Cena

This was your typical bad guy vs hurt good guy match as the Big Show dominated most of the match only to get by an Attitude Adjuster out of nowhere to give Cena the win. I think the WWE dropped the ball with this one. They had a chance to really build Show's character & make him that dominate big man, but since he keeps losing all they are making him out to be is a big joke.
Winner-John Cena

Jeff Hardy vs Edge
Actually surprised that this was the main event of the evening. A good very good match between the two with both superstars getting their time to shine. Had some outside interference from Matt Hardy that it really could have gone without, but an overall good match with Edge picking up the win with a Edge-a-cution from the top rope.
Winner & Still Champ-Edge

Federer Gets Huge Win Versus Nadal

Roger Federer finally got a much needed win vs Rafael Nadal Sunday at the Madrid Open. Federer, who has struggled against Nadal was able to win 6-4 and 6-4. The win gave him his first victory in more than five attempts, and only his second win on clay ever versus Rafael.

Federer said that the win was "very satisfying". Roger broke Nadal's streak of 33 straight wins on clay, a feat that may have seemed impossible just a few months ago. Federer also said that he got the win he needed very badly!

At one time Roger Federer looked unstoppable and definitely unbeatable, until Rafael Nadal got rolling. It has been tough for Federer to get himself out of his slump after loosing his confidence, but this win should help him to get back on track!

The French Open begins on May 25, so the fireworks between these two great stars should only pick up in a major event.

WWE Judgement Day Predictions

With WWE Judgement Day coming live from the Rosemant Arena in Chicago, IL 2morrow on PPV, I am going to give my predictions on each match. With the matchup they have this could turn out to be one of the better PPVs of the year despite there being no HBK, HHH, or Undertaker on the card. Following the PPV 2morrow evening I will post the results/review.

CM Punk vs Umaga

This should be a decent match. If the WWE were smart they would Umaga win this one to build up his character again on Smackdown in a squash match. But instead you'll probally see Umaga dominate for most of the match & CM Punk get the win out of nowhere.
Winner-CM Punk

John Morrison vs Shelton Benjamin

This match if given the chance will probaly steal the show. These are two of the most gifted & athletic superstars on the roster. With the recent break up of the Miz & Morrison union, I feel Morrison will be the victor so he gain momentum as a singles competitor.
WINNER-John Morrison

Chris Jericho vs Rey Mysterio (IC Title)
These two have history daating back to the ECW & WCW days. I look for this match to be filled with a lot of back & forth action with Jericho getting the clean win. I feel this will be there first match of many as they battle & bring some prestige back to the I.C Title.
Winner & New I.C Champ-Chris Jericho

Jack Swagger vs Christian (ECW Championship)
With the lack of star power on ECW, I can actually see Christian retaining the silver in this match. Don't really expect anything spectacular in this match.
Winner & Still Champ-Christian

John Cena vs Big Show
This match will be average at best. Don't really expect anything more than the previous matchups between the two. Show will dominate because of his size & Cena will show off his strength. The only thing different I see being different this time around is the outcome with Big Show getting the win. I feel we will see Big Show in the title picture pretty soon so he needs this win.
Winner-Big Show

Jeff Hardy vs Edge (World Championship)
In what could be another candidate for match of the year, this match will have a lot of action. This is another fued that I feel the WWE can build on for a few more PPVs leading to a TLC match at Summer Slam. I think Jeff Hardy will get the victory in a hard faught battle & finally get a reign at the top.
Winner & New World Champion-Jeff Hardy

Batista vs Randy Orton (WWE Championship)
After seeing Batista get the better of Randy on Raw this past Monday, I can only feel that Randy will retain the belt. After some interferance from Legacy, one of the McMahons will come for the save for Batista only to cost him in the long run. Can even possibly see a fourth member joining Legacy 2nite or really soon.
Winner & Still Champ-Randy Orton

Don King Sues America

I'm never surprised when Don King is involved in some shady activity. Hell, it's Don King! What concerns me is how he continues to milk situation after situation. Fighters have been left broke and literally broken after fooling around with King. He has never had real concern about the fighters best interest as much as lining his own pockets. He just isn't a fair man. Crooks are crooks whether they wear a mask and carry a crow bar or wear $500 Brooks Brothers suits.

This time around King is suing the American Legion post in Chino, California. I've actually been to Chino. That is pointless, but true. Anyway, King Vision and J & J Productions have a suit against the Legion for an alleged lack of proper licensing. They accused the Legion violated broadcast laws by purchasing only a residential pay-per-view license, and not a commercial license.

The Legion claimed that they never charged anyone to watch King promoted fights, and that they only ordered the package that their tv provider told them to.

Wow! I understand that times aren't the best, but come on man! That's a dirty move from King.

The American Legion paid the legendary promoter $20,000 to just go away in what seems like another case of war vets getting the shaft.

Just a few day ago, former Chicago Bull Corey Blount was sentenced to one year in jail for possession of weed. Blount had approximately 29 pounds of reefer between his car and his home. Blount told authorities that it was for personal use only! That is hilarious!

On Wednesday, Darius Miles was arrested for possession of weed. Miles was arrested in his home town of St. Louis. According to reports, Miles was stopped by police on a routine traffic stop, but after searching the vehicle the officer found less than 2.5 grams of reefer in the car. That might be enough to fill 1 small cigar!

Miles also received a ticket for driving on a suspended license. The Grizzlies have yet to comment on the situation, and Miles was released from police custody after paying $100 bond.

The 27 year old Miles was suspended last year for violating the NBA's anti-drug program. He has played on four teams since he was drafted in 2000-2001, and his future with the Memphis is "cloudy" at best.

Punch Out: May 18th

For all those 80's babies who loved Mike Tyson's Punch Out, the rebirth of the series has taken too long, but the wait is over! A classic game finally is brought back to life later this month. I know all my friends back in the day played it, and the majority of people I've run across, born around the same time as myself, have some knowledge of it. The game is a part of culture, the culture that was Nintendo 80's.

The new version is not called "Mike Tyson's Punch Out", it's just Punch Out, and the game will hit shelves May 18th for the Nintendo Wii. There are few character changes, but most look to be in tact. I don't believe that Tyson will appear, mostly due to the fact he is appearing on the new Fight Night game, which supposedly ships one June 30th.

The Wii, as many will recall, outsold its competition last year, leading the way in the console wars. Nintendo may have found another big hit if this game picks up speed the way I think it's capable of!

Punch Out will give you a taste of the old school, with a new school attitude. The high energy play that you get from the Wii, combined with Little Mac and his will to compete against bigger competition, should lead to some fun nights and sore mornings!

Harrison Done?

Peter King has reported via a twitter feed, that former Indianapolis Colt Marvin Harrison's playing career has come to a close. King who works for SI.com, claims that a source has led him to believe that it's all over for the future hall of famer.

Harrison has yet to file any retirement paperwork, so this report may still be a bit premature. There hasn't been much interest in the star receiver since the Colt's released him a few months ago. It was obvious last year that Harrison wasn't the same player he had been in the past.

Marvin is 36 years old and has career #'s that are outstanding. In 13 years, Harrison has over 1,000 catches, 14,580 yards receiving, and 128 touchdowns. There aren't many players that can say they have stats like that!

I'm sure that some team out there has to be willing to take a shot at Harrison, despite nothing happening yet. If nothing else he can be a mentor to some young receivers.

"I thought that it might be it. When you don't get a chance to put up your hands to protect yourself, I'm lucky to be walking today. Anything from here is a plus."

Torry Holt Enjoys Scaring Kids!

Torry Holt's finger looks bad! He said that it actually helps him snag passes better, but it looks gross. It might feel alright today, but 20 years from know, he is going to regret not getting that digit fixed.

The King is Crowned MVP

He's only 24 years old, so the question becomes how many does he win? MVP honors were bestowed upon Lebron James for an outstanding season which captivated all that had the chance to be witness. LBJ led his cavs to the best record in the NBA, displayed a passion for lock down defense, and posted some sick numbers along the way. I give him credit for Cleveland having the best in game music in sports as well. They jam at the Q!

Roger Mayweather Takes Shots at Angelo Dundee

With the return of the great Floyd Mayweather Jr., boxing fans have been granted another opportunity to hear the word, as spoken by Roger Mayweather. The expletives and profanities fly when old Rog is around! This guy will say anything, at any given moment, kinda like Floyd Mayweather Sr.!

The thing that makes Roger so cool is that he really is that drunk uncle that we all seem to have! He won't stop talking, but swears he aint drunk! He just rambles on until he actually makes his point, usually capped off with a "motherfucker".

Roger chose to attack legendary trainer Angelo Dundee during the Mayweather vs Marquez press conference this past Saturday.

Fresh Foot Work

These Air Max 90's will hit the market for the holidays this year. The folks over at NiceKicks.com always keep me up to date. Nike doesn't seem to run out of interesting colorways to spice up classic kicks!

Candy of the Night

There was something about the black and white photo that I liked! Victoria A. Taylor, aka Vickie 6 is one bad chick! Check her web site at Vickie6.com.

The Pac-Man vs The Hitman

I paid my money for 12 rounds of Jr. welterweight action, but got only two. The two that I witnessed were outstanding! Manny Pacquiao continued his utter domination versus big name opposition, embarrassing Ricky "Hitman" Hatton and adding his name to the growing list of legendary fighters to fall to the Filipino sensation.

From the opening bell the Pac-Man was able to get to Hatton with right and left hooks, demonstrating a level of hand speed that confused and eventually ended the night for Manchester's golden boy! The first round was all Pacquiao, as he promptly placed Hatton on his ass twice! The smothering techniques that Ricky has employed over the years proved ineffective against Pacquiao's superior quickness and elusiveness.

The knockout was a thing of beauty! The shot was so pure, so precise, so powerful, and so perfect that referee Kenny Bayless didn't even have to count to ten. He leaned in over Hatton, who cleary was out before he hit the canvas, took one look at his eyes, and stopped the bout. T......K......O!

I didn't believe that Hatton would fall so early, but his lack of defense made it very easy for Pacquiao to send him to the showers before breaking a serious sweat.

Great win for Pacquiao, but what's next? Everyone understands that the big money match will be against Floyd Mayweather Jr., but who's to say that the "Pretty Boy" gets past Juan Manuel Marquez in July! If Jr. stumbles, it would set up the third fight for Pacquiao and Marquez, a series of fights that has yet to disappoint. Will Manny stay at 140 pounds or move back up to 147, the weight that saw him destroy the recently retired Oscar De La Hoya?

Whatever the Pac-Man does from here, it can be safely said that he is one of the best fighters to ever step into the ring. The resume speaks for itself! Props to his trainer Freddy Roach.

NHL Has Great Matchup with Crosby v Ovechkin

I think that all fans understand that in team sports, the better team will usually win versus the team that has the better individual players. That's just how it goes. Yet we crave the 1on 1 matchups that go on, hold our breath as individual battles take shape during games, and go crazy for the big plays made at the biggest moments.

The National Hockey League has a prime time matchup on their hands this postseason, as the Pittsburgh Penguins battle the Washington Capitals. Not only are you getting the two best young players in the league squaring off, but you get them at a time when they may be playing the best hockey of their lives. Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin are leading by example, and although they have reached this point by taking opposite paths, the course has been linked since they arrived in the league.

I can't lie, after my St. Louis Blues(yes, they were this years miracle on ice) were knocked out, I really stopped paying attention. I will make it my duty to catch some game action between these two, that's for certain. It's great for the NHL, and even better for die hard hockey fans!

Boldin Still a Professional

Someone once told me that some guys got it, and that some guys don't. I felt fortunate that they believed I was a guy that got it!

We are in an era of diva players though, an era of guys that have great talent, but don't understand what it is to be professional. When they don't like a move or a play they cry and make a bunch of unnecessary noise, things that distract all involved. The list of bs goes on and on, but in most cases the production doesn't match the level of whining.

Anquan Boldin showed up at the Arizona minicamp just as he normally would. Despite all that has gone on between he and the Arizona Cardinals, Anquan Boldin the "football player" has never broken stride as a true leader for his team.

Unlike other receivers and players before him, current talent included, Boldin remains true to his level of commitment to team first! Let us appreciate that simple thing.

The junior welterweight showdown will be going down Saturday night. This is the video from the final press conference.

Joakim Dunks Paul Pierce

Joakim Noah and his Chicago Bulls are stepping up in a major way this post season. During last night's thrilling triple OT classic, Noah had the biggest moment of his two year pro career, when he stole the ball and finished a three point play over Celtic forward Paul Pierce. The two time NCAA champion just secured a spot in the heart of Bull fans for years to come!
