Video: Ron Artest on TNT w/Craig Sager

Ron Artest is a fool! I was watching TNT last night when they first aired this clip, and I couldn't stop laughing. Artest will say anything.

In under two minutes Ron Ron claims that Brandon Roy is the best two guard in the game, Jordan wanted to face off against him, and that Sir Charles Barkley was overrated.

Lets hope that the Rockets can advance in the playoffs this season, because we may be in store for more great Artest sound bites!

Randy Brown Rings for Sale.....

Just call MJ! If I was Randy Brown and I needed a little money, that is excatly what I would have done.

Randy Brown was a member of the Chicago Bull's 1990's title runs, playing an important role in many key games.

Reports claim that Brown has been ordered to auction off his valuables by a judge ruling in his bankruptcy case. All three of Brown's title rings have got to go. The rings are being auctioned off by West Auctions and have a starting price of $19,000.
This is the item description:
This is a court-ordered sale of a set of three championship rings from the Chicago Bulls “repeat the three-peat” wins of the NBA finals of 1996, 1997, and 1998. These rings are from the bankruptcy estate of former Chicago Bull’s guard and assistant coach to the Sacramento Kings, Randy Brown.
The sale doesn't officially begin until May 19, so all the ballers who are looking to get some NBA bling bling, you have time!

Video: Cavaliers spoof Heineken walk in fridge commercial

I found this video on youtube just a few minutes ago. You can count on the James gang to supply us with some humor.

Video: Phoenix Suns Deserve Oscar Nomination

The playoff spotlight didn't shine on the Phoenix Suns this season, so Steve Nash and the gang decided to make a short film to keep themselves relevant. "SuperBADGE" was directed by Steve Nash, and features Shaq, Alando Tucker, and side show Bob look alike Robin Lopez! I'm not sure who the other two clowns are that get arrested, but this little spoof is funny.

Video: Boozer Dunks Pau Gasol

The Lakers and Jazz battled to the finish Friday night in their game three showdown. Jazz forward Carlos Boozer had a spectacular game, including a huge dunk over Pau Gasol down the stretch to help secure a win for Utah.

The Cavaliers look to be having a great time this season. Check out center Anderson Varejao as he imitates Lebron!

Fresh Foot Work

Nike has introduced a new line of sneakers, the Skinny Dunks. I realize that hip-hop has become infatuated with "skinny jeans", so I hope these aren't geared to those tight jean wearing clowns out there. The shoe itself is kinda cool looking, and as always Nike is dropping multiple colorways.

"Superstars" Making a Comeback

Everyone should remember the old show "The Superstars" that featured pro athletes competing in high energy physical challenges. If you don't, then get ready for the new era version that is sure to attract a fresh audience.

ABC will be hosting the new show, and it should be liver than ever! It is scheduled to make its television debut in June. I'm not sure if it will be a prime time show, as it's predecessor aired on the weekend.

The group of names that have already committed makes it sound rather intriguing. Former NBA player Robert Horry, tennis star Jennifer Capriati, Terrell Owens, Bodie Miller, and Lisa Leslie are just a few of the stars that will try to recapture the glory of the Superstars brand!

Rihanna Has Eyes for Bynum

After taking a beating from Chris Brown, Rihanna has apparently decided she needs a man who packs a bigger punch! That was so wrong!
Anyway, she has found herself a 7-footer than can squash Chris Brown like a bug if he ever tries to dance his way back into her life.
Laker star center, Andrew Bynum and the young pop diva were spotted together having some dinner and looking cozy. Maybe the two can give each other tips on rebounding!

Jeremy Tyler: Where are His Parents?

So this high school junior here in the states wants to play pro basketball in Europe his senior year. Really? Don't think I have heard of that before. It's all good in Europe to turn pro early, but not so much here in the USA.

That apparently is a thing of the past. Jeremy Tyler, who is considered by some to be the best young big man in the country, is a junior at San Diego High School, and is planning on turning professional and forgoing his senior season. He would be the first player born in the United States to leave high school early to play professional basketball in Europe. Amazing story!

With the NBA having placed an age limit on early draft entrees, the times have once again changed for high school ballers trying to make a move to the professional ranks.

I can't knock anyone who is trying to get paid, but what I don't understand is where are his parents?

Director of Women's Studies Wants Isiah's Blood...

The firing squad is out for the hide of Isiah Thomas, or is it Thompson. Anyway, it didn't take very long for critics to surface about his hiring as head basketball coach at Florida International University.

The director of Womens Studies, Laurie Shrage is protesting the hiring of Thomas. Her protest stems from the sexual harassment suit that was filed against Thomas during his tenure with the New York Knicks.

“Given that a federal district jury found he sexually harassed a colleague and created a hostile working environment, this hire sends the wrong message about F.I.U.’s commitment to the success of all students, faculty, and staff, regardless of their gender,” Shrage said in an e-mail message. Take that Isiah!

Shrage called the hiring of Thomas a "teachable moment". Shrage and fellow colleagues plan to hand deliver a copy of the university's sexual harassment policy to coach Thomas.

I bet she just wants to get his autograph and a picture! This just seemed like the best way to ensure she doesn't have to wait in line like the rest of the faculty/staff. Slick move Laurie!

She has also made it public that she will plan organized sexual harassment functions in the hope that Thomas and other university officials will attend. I'm willing to bet that the team reaches 30 wins before Zeek shows up at any seminars on how not to touch women.

Mayweather vs Marquez

Reports have a fight with Floyd Mayweather facing Juan Manuel Marquez this summer in his return to the ring. According to fighthype.com, the fight will be scheduled for July in Vegas. For Floyd, it will be his first fight in almost two years.

ShowBOX in STL April 24

I had completely forgotten that Corey Spinks has another fight here in St. Louis next weekend! Showtime will present it's ShowBox series here next Saturday night at the Scottrade Center. The last fight Corey had was disappointing here, so maybe I chose to forget about this upcoming bout. I checked for available tickets, NO PROBLEM! There are still ringside seats available as of this post.

Spinks(36-5, 11 KOs) will face another native of the Gateway City, Deandre "The Bull" Latimore in a junior middleweight showdown for the vacant IBF light middleweight title. Young phenom Devon Alexander will appear on the under card.

St. Louis has been host to four out of the last six fights for Spinks, who looks to regain the same IBF belt he lost last March to journeyman Verno Phillips. Corey has a career that has witnessed it's better days, and most of the boxing "experts" wrote him off sometime shortly following his loss to Jermaine Taylor back in 07, a fight that I believed he could have won, but if he intends to be taken seriously he has to have a more crowd pleasing style.

The use of good foot movement, evasive defense, and quickness are excellent boxing tools, but when the offense doesn't match the D it makes for dull fights. It's not like Spinks is too old to be a relevant player at 154 pounds, he's just 31, but he hasn't endeared himself to many fight fans with his tap and run style. A loss here could really send Spinks' career into a downward spiral!

Latimore will be in his first world title fight when he steps inside the ring with Spinks. The "Bull" has a record of 19-1, with 16 knockouts and is coming off a major win against Sechew Powell last June. That's too long for any young fighter to be out of the ring, especially one that is trying to get big money opportunities, but Latimore appears ready despite a career long layoff.

I'm assuming that Don King is somehow responsible for all that has gone wrong leading up to this STL showdown!

Tribute to Jackie Robinson

A tribute to baseball icon Jackie Robinson like no other that I have seen. This Nike Blazer pack will be out this month at Nike stores nationwide.

Stephen A. Smith won't Re-Sign

The mouth of ESPN other than Dick Vitale, is clearly Stephen A. Smith. I'm hearing that this cat doesn't want to re-sign with ESPN.
Why? It's all about that money, money, yeah, yeah, that money money! Smith has been getting paid, and well, the new deal that has been kicked his way doesn't pack the same dollar for dollar punch he's getting currently.

Big deal Stephen A! Does he not recognize his own audience? So many folks that listen to him would take a pay cut today in a heart beat, just to say that they still have a job! Don't alienate yourself from your listeners by becoming some pompous, egotistical, money grubbing sports announcer! Doesn't that sound like somebody else out there though?
Take the pay cut, report the hoops news, and keep annoying people to death! The station won't be the same without him, but it will go on without a doubt, so get yourself together and sign the damn deal! The people want access to you, and doing print media is going to close off your audience.

Don't leave us to deal with that damn dirt bag Skip Bayless please! He makes me throw up in my mouth!

Rest up KG and DA....

Kevin Garnett likely out for the playoffs?! I'm not sure what happened today or what rock I was under, but when I heard the news at about 11pm CST, I got upset.

Not upset because the Celtics are going to lose, I only tolerate them because he and cousin Ray work there, but upset that the organization did such a great job disguising it and waisting time getting their center piece repaired. This could have been announced eons ago!

I'm sure that it didn't just get worse! Teams far to many times play that wait and see approach, and the player suffers longterm. The knee has been an issue for Kevin, but we all know he still wants to play, it's just that warrior in him. Can't fault him!

He tried to come back, played in like a game or two, couldn't go! He just didn't seem to be at KG speed. Couldn't move, run, jump, like we have grown accustomed to seeing, like he has grown accustomed to doing.

When they shut him down a week or two ago I applauded. Ownership seemingly was trying to let him rest for the playoff run, but if it was this serious, why wait thinking it would just get better. It may have been a wiser business decision to take this stance a few months ago, because if surgery ends up being the requirement, then they would have waisted about 60 days by not acting sooner.

Danny Ainge had a heart attack on top of that, well I'm not sure if that news was before or after the actual attack, but it surely can't help his cause. Slow down on the on the red meat Danny, slow down! Having an artery with 100% blockage is no joke, so hope DA gets better as well. Most recent reports have him recovering "nicely".

Must have been a rough day for Boston sports fans, but at least Tom Brady is your quarterback.

With the schedule release a couple of days ago I felt it necessary to find my must see games each week. These are games that I don't plan on missing, well unless something better is happening, but I can't think of what that would be! Line of the Night

On the NBA's final night of the regular season there were countless great performances to chose from and it was certainly tough to pick just one winner.

The line of the night though belongs to Danny Granger of the Indiana Pacers.

He had 35 points, 9 rebounds, 4 dimes, 3 steals, and 3 blocks in a meaningless victory over the Bucks.

Zollner Piston

Zollner Corporation, formed in 1912, was a Tier-1 supplier of pistons to companies such as Ford, General Motors, International Harvester (now Navistar), John Deere and Outboard Marine. At one time, the company employed more than 1000 people in its Fort Wayne, Indiana foundry. The company has announced that the plant will be closing its doors due to the poor economic conditions, as reported by the Chicago Tribune.

It's owner Fred Zollner (January 22, 1901 – June 21, 1982) was called "Mr. Pro Basketball" as the founder and longtime owner of the Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons (now the Detroit Pistons) and a key figure in the merger of National Basketball League and Basketball Association of America into the National Basketball Association in 1949. The Pistons played in Fort Wayne from 1949 until 1957 when they moved to Detroit.
The company hasn't released an official date for closing yet.

Video: Oscar De La Hoya Calls it Quits

The Golden Boy announced his official retirement from boxing during a press conference Tuesday afternoon. Oscar De La Hoya, who is 36, decided to call it quits after a very successful amateur and professional career. His professional record stands at 39-6 with 30 KO's.

Oscar walks away as a 10x world champion in six different weight classes and of course an Olympic Gold medalist at the 1992 Barcelona games. He is one of the most decorated fighters of all time and arguably the most popular as well. Over the last few years, his in ring activity has diminished, while his promotion company Golden Boy Promotions has flourished.

"Boxing is my passion, boxing is what I was born to do and when I can't do it anymore, when I can't compete at the highest level, it's not fair. "It's not fair to me, it's not fair to the fans, it's not fair to nobody", said De La Hoya.

Oscar wasn't able to beat any top names this decade, unless you consider Ricardo Mayorga, Arturo Gatti, and Fernando Vargas to be a big names. It wasn't that Oscar didn't want to face the best, it's just he couldn't beat the best! Four out of his last seven fights ended in defeat, including a knockout loss to Bernard Hopkins in 2004 and his embarrassing retirement against Manny Pacquiao last December.

"Now I understand why athletes have such a tough time retiring from something that you feel so passionate about, from your sport that you're always thinking you can try one more time," he said.

I'm glad that Oscar is stepping away before his legacy is tarnished beyond repair. So many fighters won't step down when they should, leaving boxing fans fed up with over the hill fighters trying to regain their youth!

Ray Allen Doesn't Walk On Water

Looks like Jesus Shuttlesworth isn't so perfect after all!

In the end both players were hit with technical fouls, but I have never witnessed Ray Ray act like that. It was dirty, and I liked it!

Fact: The Celtics got their ass kicked 107-76!

Line of the Night

It was close this evening, and despite another terrific performance from Chris Paul, the line belongs to Dwyane Wade.

He went of for 55 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 dimes vs the New York Knicks.

Video: Pirate Triple Play

This is some bad base running! It looks like the runner who was on second is trying to score, without watching the ball first.

Williams owns Wright in Middleweight Bout....

I waited and waited for it, and when it was over I didn't feel cheated! That's the story behind the middleweight showdown between Paul Williams and Winky Wright.

Williams improved his record Saturday night, and continued to solidify his place as one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world today by outworking Wright over the course of 12 rounds. From the outset, Williams activity level provided issues for the 37 year old Wright, who had been inactive for 21 months, the longest stretch of his career.

Williams doubled up his jab, shot hooks from crazy angles, and battered Wink with uppercuts time after time. Fans of Wright surely didn't expect that Williams would be able to touch Wink with such ease, but he did it the whole fight.

Let me say this though about Williams and his punch output. It's flat out ridiculous! Dude threw almost 1,100 punches in the fight, and he only took one round off. Judges are obviously impressed with punch output, as evident by the scorecards. Two out of three judges ringside scored the fight 120-108, and the third scored it 119-109.

Winky didn't look bad despite the final scoring, but the layoff obviously impacted his performance. His defense and counter punching are still his calling cards. In the early going, Wright was able to block some punches that Williams was throwing and counter, but in the end a lack of activity cost him the fight. During the post fight interview, Wright promised that he will continue to fight, and that he was happy with his performance. He did make it clear that Williams punch output was tremendous and was more than he expected.

Williams will now be looking for another big fight, and hinted that he would like a shot at the recently retired Joe Calzaghe. If promoter Dan Goosen can find a way to lure Calzaghe back into the ring to face Williams, watch out for a dynamite fight.

It wasn't the fight of the year as I had hoped, but it was entertaining from start to finish. Styles really do make fights, and these guys styles certainly prove that point to be accurate.

The video is from rounds 3-4.

Top 5 NBA Rookies for 2008-2009

The NBA season is coming to a close, so it's time to list the top five rookies to lace em up this year. It wasn't easy providing the year end ranking, but here we go.

5. Eric Gordon- The Clipper guard had a nice year in Los Angeles. Gordon ranked third among rookies in minutes played at 33.9 per game and made the most of his time night in and night out. Gordon did an adequate job of filling in for often injured Clipper star Baron Davis. EG averaged 15.7 ppg, 2.8 dimes, and 2.5 rpg, while shooting 44% from the field.

4. Michael Beasley- The #2 overall pick in the draft had some lofty expectations to live up to this year, and in my opinion he didn't disappoint. Beasley, compared to my other rookie selections played the least amount of minutes(24.2). He made the most of his playing time in Miami, scoring 13.2 ppg on 46% shooting from the field and snatched 5 rebounds per game. With increased run next year, Beasley will only posts better #'s.

3. O.J. Mayo- Mayo led all rookies in scoring this year, averaging 18.2 ppg. There is no doubt that Mayo can score with the best in the league, but he will have to improve his shot selection going forward. Mayo is a strong free throw shooter(87%), which definitely helped his scoring average. If there was an award for best offensive rookie, O.J. would win.

2. Derrick Rose- Rose has been a pleasure to watch during his rookie campaign. He took the starting job away from veteran Kirk Hinrich almost immediately and hasn't looked back. The #1 overall selection in the draft has the Bulls currently sitting in the 7th playoff spot with six games left to play. He is averaging 16.6 ppg, 6.2 apg, while shooting 47% from the floor. His uptempo and fearless style of play has made the Bulls fun to watch again.

1. Brook Lopez- The 7 footer has been a consistent presence in the paint for the New Jersey Nets this year. Lopez has averaged 30.5 minutes per game and started 70 out of a possible 77 games. His shooting percentage is .532, which leads all rookies who have played at least 75 games. He isn't the big scorer like Mayo or Gordon, as evident by his scoring average of 13.0 ppg, but his rebounding(7.90 per), shot blocking(1.8 per), and free throw shooting(.797%) make him just as valuable. The big guys are usually overlooked because they don't handle the ball, but Brook Lopez is at the top of my list for rookies during the 2008-2009 season.

Fact: No twin has ever won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award!

Z-Bo Arrested for DUI

Zach Randolph doesn't have many fans as it is, but the few that are still on his team are disappointed by this latest development. I am one of those people!

Following a loss to the Lakers last night at Staples, Randolph was arrested for DUI early this morning. The incident occurred around 2:25 am off of the 405 freeway. According to reports, the officer who pulled Zach over smelled alcohol emanating from his Rolls Royce and proceeded to put Randolph through a series of test, all of which Z-Bo failed.

This is the second DUI for Randolph, and another blemish on his career. It hasn't been an easy year for Zach, who has dealt with the passing of his father, injury, and a trade from the Knicks to the Clippers. I hope the former Michigan State standout can get his life together before it implodes!
Fact: Randolph is averaging 21.0 points per game and 10.20 rebounds through 49 games this year.

Air Jordan Fusion 9

This is the sweetest fusion yet. Supposedly, the Air Jordan Fusion 9 White/Varsity Red-Black will hit retailers on June 6th, 2009.

Only Five Make Hoops Hall of Fame....

Yesterday I gave you the 16 finalist for the Basketball Hall of Fame. Today, the results are in and five legends will be included for 2009.

The icon, Michael Jordan leads the class of 2009. His fellow inductees include "The Admiral", David Robinson, the NBA's all time leader in assists and steals, John Stockton, Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan, and Rutgers women's coach C. Vivian Stringer.

The five inductees will officially be entered into the hall during a two day ceremony in September.
This is a strong induction class, but I was hurt that Dennis Rodman didn't get in. "The Worm" was one of my favorite players, and I wonder if his on court antics and off court issues will play a part in his inclusion to the hall in the future.
Leaving Cynthia Cooper out is wrong too! If it wasn't for Coop leading those early Houston Comet teams to championships, the WNBA wouldn't be in existence today.
Fact: Coach Jerry Sloan has never been named NBA Coach of The Year!

Da Day After-WrestleMania 25 Review

Da Day After-WrestleMania 25 Review

by Steven J. Smiff (Tyme Zone,St. Louis, MO)

Last night the 25th anniversery of WrestleMania came to us live from Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX in front of a crown of 72,744 people. WrestleMania has been dubbed the "SuperBowl" of professional wrestling & last night's event fueled with high profiled matches such as Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker and HHH vs Randy Orton, proved to be no different. Bringing in a record setting million in revenue made it the highest grossing live WWE event in history.

The 1st match of the evening was the tag team championship unification lumberjack match with Miz & Morrisson (World Tag Champs) against Carlito & Primo (WWE Tag Champs). I really don't have much to say about this match because at the last minute WWE decided to change this to a match only available to those that ordered the PPV online. It will also be available to those who purchase the DVD. I feel the WWE really dropped the ball with this one. Even though the tag straps aren't what they once used to be, a unification championship match should not have been left off the PPV. With that being said the winners of this match & new Unified Tag Team Champions- Carlito & Primo.

The show finally begins in typical WWE fashion with the crowd cheering & lots of pyro. We have a three man announce team of J.R, Michael Cole, & the King calling the action tonight. Nicole Shrezinger of the Pussycat Dolls opens with America The Beautiful. Not really sure why they picked her because she really can't sing. They would have been better off with Lilian Garcia singing it, but I guess the WWE wanted to add to the star power of WrestleMania.

Money In The Bank (CM Punk, Mark Henry, Christian, Kofi Kingston, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Finlay, Kane) My Pick-Christian
A Great lead off match to get you going for the show. Lots of action in this one with Shelton Benjamin stealing the show once again. Kofi also show a lot of athleticism as he may be the best pure athlete in the WWE next to Shelton. The rest of the guys did as expected in this one even though I really expected a lot more from Christian, being that he was one of the guys to revolutionize the ladder match.
Winner (2nd year in row)-CM Punk Rating-3.5/5 HolyShytMomement-Shelton moonsaulting off 25ft. ladder

25 Diva Battle Royal (to become Miss Wrestlemania) My Pick-Mickie James
After a long drawn out performance by Kid Rock, the Divas made their way out to the ring. This match really could have been left off the program as it seemed like the announcers didn't even care about this match, often just talking about everything except the match. It was nice to see some old faces like Sunny, Molly Holly, Torrie Wilson, & the recently retired Victoria. I was a little disappointed that Trish wasn't in the match, especially after her appearance on Raw a few months back.
Winner-Santina Marella Rating-1.0/5 HolyShytMomement-Santina's victory dance

Chris Jericho vs Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jimmy Superfly Snuka, Ricky the Dragon Steamboat w/Ric Flair (3 on 1 handicap elimination match) My Pick-Jericho
I was really hoping that this match would be changed before the PPV or that Stone Cold Steve Austin would come & save the day, but the WWE carried on with the original plan. Mickey Rourke sat ringside to witness his legend friends get destroyed. While the Dragon looked like he could get back in the ring tomorrow, the same can't be said for his partners in the match. Piper performed the worst drop kick I have ever seen in my life & I knew Superfly wasn't going to do much because it looked like he had trouble just getting to the ring. After the match Flair gets beat up by Jericho only to have Mickey Rourke save the day.
Winner-Chris Jericho Rating-2.5/5 HolyShytMomement-Rourke hitting Jericho with a 1-2 knockout combo.

Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy (Extreme Rules) My Pick-Matt Hardy
This one had all of the build up of the classic brother vs brother match like Owen vs Bret or Undertaker vs Kane. As well as these two have worked in the ring with each other in the past, I think they work even better against each other. They worked in typical Hardy fashion with Jeff providing the high flying moves & Matt using a more power/technical approach. I look forward to more great matches between these two, with each getting better, as I feel that this feud is far from over.
Winner-Matt Hardy Rating-4.0/5 HolyShytMomement-Jeff's flop thru table on Matt on table with chair on top or Matt's Twist of Fate thru chair.

Rey Mysterio vs JBL {c}(Intercontinental Championship)My Pick JBL
JBL promised us history in this one & we may have had it in more ways than one. This was the shortest match on the card lasting only 21 seconds as Mysterio becomes the new IC Champ. After the match JBL made history by becoming the 1st man to retire at WrestleMania.
Winner-Rey Mysterio Rating-2.0/5 HolyShytMomement-JBL quiting after match

Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels (Streak vs Streak)My Pick-Undertaker
Undertaker is 16-0 at WrestleMania, but HBK is undefeated against the Undertaker. All of the mind games from HBK leading up to the match was great & this was hands down the best match of the evening. Lots of back & forth action & close pin falls in this one. We saw why they call HBK the Showstopper as he kicked out of a choke slam, Last Ride, & a Tombstone, before finally losing to a second tombstone. They should really transfer the title of Mr. WrestleMania to the Undertaker as he survived two Sweet Chin Musics on his way to 17-0 on the grandest stage of them all.
Winner-Undertaker Rating-5.0/5 HolyShytMomement-HBK kicking out of Tombstone & the look on Taker's face after he did so.

Big Show vs John Cena vs Edge{C} (Triple Threat World Title)My Pick-Big Show
Overall an ok match. Expected a lot more from these superstars. With Show taking the job to Floyd Mayweather at last years Mania, I really expected him to steal the show in this one. The match went back & forth with each man getting their time to dominate the other two. Vickie Guerrero tried to interfere along with Chavo, but to no avail as Cena becomes champ, again.
Winner-John Cena Rating 3.5/5 HolyShytMomement-Cena getting both Show & Edge in Attitude Adjustment at the same time.

Main Event-Randy Orton vs HHH {C} (WWE Title) My Pick Randy Orton
This was probably the most disappointing match of the evening. With all of the build up leading to this match, it was disappointing to see it end like this. Overall it was an ok a match with both men hitting their finishers early in the match. There was no signs of Legacy or the McMahons in this one as they kept it a legitimate one on one match even though HHH had to use the sledgehammer to get the win. I expected to see either Stephanie or Shane turn & join Legacy in this one to give it that extra spice. I hope that this isn't the end of this fued because I feel they can go so many more places with it. I think we'll see more to this on Raw.
Winner-HHH Rating-3.0/5 HolyShytMomement-HHH retaining the title & no signs of Legacy or McMahons

Kidd Alone at #3 All-Time

In the first half of Sunday's Suns vs Mavericks game, Jason Kidd passed Magic Johnson for third all-time in assists with 10,142. Kidd, who is in his 15th season has never averaged less than 7.5 assists per game.

That's a great milestone for J-Kidd and we say congrats for reaching such an outstanding achievement. The only players ahead of him are John Stockton and Mark Jackson. Kidd will have a legit chance to pass Jackson, who he trails by less than 200 dimes.

I don't think anyone will pass Stockton's 15,806 assist mark though. It looks totally out of reach!

Semi-Meltdown for Federer

The once unbeatable Roger Federer has reached a point of frustration none of us saw coming. During his most recent match vs Novak Djokovic, Federer exhibited some disturbing behavior by slamming his racquet to the ground causing it to break in two pieces!

He also seems to have a littering problem. It's Green Week in the NBA Roger, show some respect!

This guy was the coolest customer on the tennis court, but since losing his number one ranking to Rafael Nadal it's been all down hill.

Djokovic defeated Federer 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Fact: Federer has won the tour sportsmanship award the last five years.

Line of the Night

Tonight's line was delivered by J.R. Smith.

28 points, 7 dimes, 2 rebounds.....He also shot 8-13 from beyond the arc!

He led the Nuggets over Utah 114-104.

Chill D White, Chill......

Dana White is crazy as hell. He totally goes off on writer Loretta Hunt. Hunt wrote a piece for Sherdog about restrictions on the number of backstage passes UFC fighters are allowed to have.

I know that White is more intellectual than this. Why all the profanity? As a part of the MMA front line, he of all people should know that people are going to write a lot of bogus stuff, but he shouldn't stoop to a level of such petty verbal abuse. If the lady is wrong, expose her with legitimate evidence and kill her credibility. It's just a cleaner way to make a strong point.

Funny as hell though! Gotta luv an expletive filled tirade!

Bear Fans Should Jump For Joy

Imagine having one of the best defenses in the league for about five years, but not being able to trust your quarterback to lead the team in the clutch. Sounds like either the Baltimore Ravens or the Chicago Bears to me. The Ravens addressed their QB needs last year by drafting Joe Flacco. Today, the Bears finally fixed their problem too, by trading for Pro Bowl QB Jay Cutler.

All the Chicago fans understood that Grossman was a joke. Rex just isn't a starter, and shouldn't have been when he was. Coach Smith stuck to his guns and kept Grossman in way to long. Kyle Orton finally found himself last year, after battling with Grossman for mediocrity in years past. Unfortunately for him, the injury bug shortened what was a nice run as the starter. Hell, if the Bears had done better he may have been able to keep his job this year.

What it comes down to is that both those guys had plenty of chances to win over the city and the organization. They failed! With the announcement that the Bears have acquired Jay Cutler, all Bears fans should stand up and jump for joy. The city can take a collective deep breath that training camp won't come down to another Orton vs Grossman for starter fiasco. Finally, the defense may get a break. I'm sure Urlacher and the gang will enjoy not having to find ways to manufacture so many points on defense.

Cutler is a phenomenal young talent, who hasn't reached his prime yet. The kid has a cannon for an arm, yet displays superior accuracy which can only improve a weak passing game. The Bears have placed themselves in a nice spot with this move.

Greg Oden hasn't done much to impress this season, but this shot at least gets him some luv.

Cuban Admits Players Did Drugs

Fire up that grass and pass me a beer! According to Mark Cuban in Dallas that was the culture before he became boss. The billionaire owner seems to always find himself in the middle of something, and this is no different.

Jonah Ballow, the Timberwolves NBA writer conducted an interview with Cuban about the media and it's role in the NBA. At a point in the interview Cuban provides some light into the Dallas lockeroom before his ownership began.

Jonah: Should players be allowed to Twitter? Even during games?

Mark: Sure of course. During games, it depends on the coach. Different coaches have different routines during the fifteen minutes or whatever you have. Different players have different routines. If a part of a routine for a player is to change their uniform and just chill, catch their breath and there is nothing going on with the coaches…then fine, who cares.

Jonah: Charlie Villanueva made a great point; a Twitter update is about the same as a halftime interview.

"He is right. Before I took over for the Mavs back in the day they used to drink and smoke in the locker room, so I can think of worse things."

How many organizations can say the same thing, but for "politically correct" reasons would never? Cuban pushes the envelope every time he opens his mouth! It's no secret that the players drink, smoke, and gamble. They have been doing it forever, but keeping the locker room sacred is still important.

Lucky 7 Shooting Guards

If you have been with us from the beginning then you are aware of the Lucky 7 segment. This go round we turn our attention to the best 2-guards. Yes, it's all about the scoring guard and this piece should be fun.

1. Michael "Air" Jordan- Considered by most to be not only the best 2-guard, but the best player of all time, Michael Jordan is the most iconic figure in basketball history. His dynamic style of play set the bar for all players following him.

There wasn't a part of the game that MJ wasn't great at. He was a tenacious scorer throughout his career. As a young player he dominated with pure athleticism, and as he grew older his jumper and terrific basketball IQ continued to keep him at the top of the pecking order.

Jordan has so many awards and accolades that listing them could take all day. We all know he is a six time NBA champion. Michael won the Finals MVP award six times, was regular season MVP five times, and was named to the all-star game 14 times. MJ ranks 3rd on the all time scoring list with 32,292 points, plus his 30.1 points per game is number one all time.

He set the bar so high that it's almost impossible to reach it!

2. Kobe Bryant- Undeniable talent, work ethic, and a drive to prove his greatness have fueled Kobe Bryant throughout his career. Kobe has become the best player in the game today and a true clutch performer. He has improved to such a level that some folks believe the gap with Jordan is closing quickly. I'm not one of those people. He is though without question a great player.

Dude can do it all on the floor. Bryant can score in a variety of ways and doesn't shy away from guarding the opposing teams best player. His ascension to the top of the league hasn't just happened over night either. We have all watched him go through a series of stages that lead us to where he is today. They weren't all pretty to watch, but for the most part they have been effective. Kobe was the youngest player to reach 20,000 points and the only player other than Wilt Chamberlain to score at least 80 points in a NBA game.

Bryant is an 11x NBA All Star and a 3x NBA champion.

3. George "The Iceman" Gervin- I always thought George Gervin had one of the coolest nicknames ever, but his game was as cold as ice. At 6'8", the "Ice Man" was a big guard that could shoot, slash, and dominate on the offensive end. His signature finger role layup is still one of the sweetest shots ever mastered in the NBA.

Gervin was a star in the ABA before the joining the NBA. He made three ABA All Star appearances, and nine All Star games in the NBA. Gervin ranks in the top 30 all time in league scoring with 20,708 points and still holds the record for points in a single quarter with 33. Gervin is also 8th in points per game in NBA history, at 26.2.

4. Jerry West AKA Mr. Clutch- He's the logo and a 14x all-star! Is there really much more that needs to be said?

5. Pistol Pete Maravich- If you look up flair in the dictionary it should have a picture of Pete Maravich next to it.
The "pistol" had it all. His college career was remarkable, so much so that he averaged 44.2 ppg and is the NCAA Men's D1 all-time leading scorer with 3,667.
He was as important a figure in basketball as there has ever been. I've seen footage of Maravich that is just remarkable! His ability to dictate the offensive end with shooting and ball handling changed mainstream hoops forever by incorporating playground flash with organized ball.

Maravich led the NBA in scoring during the 1976-1977 season, posting 31.1 points per game. His career scoring per game average(24.2) places him in the top 20 in league history. Maravich made the all-star team 5x during his 10 year career.

6. Allen Iverson AKA The Answer- I can't comment on Iverson at the moment. Whatever is happening in Detroit concerns me. He still ranks 6th for now.

7. Reggie Miller- Not to be confused with brother Sheryl, Reggie Miller was the best deep ball shooter in NBA history. Miller got the most out of his God given ability. A frail character, Reggie was fearless on the court and was always ready to take the big shot in the big moment. He didn't back down from competition often seeking confrontation and argument from his opponents. Everyone will always remember his dismantling of the Knicks and Greg Anthony at Madison Square Garden back in 1994.

He is the NBA's all-time leader in 3 point fg's made and attempted and was an excellent free throw shooter, with an average of .888. Despite not winning a championship, Miller was the featured star for the Indiana Pacers for 18 years demonstrating great loyalty in an era of free agency moves and big money contracts. Reggie scored 25, 279 point during his career, good enough for 16th currently. He made the all-star team only 5x.

Dallas Cop Resigns

Robert Powell, who was the officer that detained Ryan Moats and his family has officially resigned from his position at the Dallas police department.

Powell had been under intense pressure over the last week or so following his use of poor judgement in the Moats vehicle stoppage.

The mayor of Dallas, Tom Leppert responded with a "yes" when asked if he was happy with the decision that Powell made to resign. Leppert said that it was a "good solution".

Powell's conduct "does not reflect on the city of Dallas. It does not reflect on the police department," Leppert said. "It didn't show the judgment that our police department should have."

It sounds like the mayor should have fired him first, instead of waiting for him to quit. It would have saved all parties involved time and money. I never understood placing an officer on leave, when it's obvious that his/her actions warrant termination. This should have been done last week.

Let's hope that officers across the country will use this as a learning tool, and not be so inhuman with the folks that they pull over.

King Magazine Folding

Here at Sport's with Mr. Factoid we try to keep it all sport, but this was so sad I had no choice but to post about it. King Magazine is going out of business due to the rough economy.

Damn, this is so bad. King has been a breath of fresh air, displaying some of the hottest females in the land over the last eight years or so. The final issue is set for release in April and will feature Tahiry, the girlfriend of rapper Joe Budden.

All men need to band together to stop this from happening. We can save King, but it will take a group effort. Write or call your local congressman and tell them you like King Magazine, and that you want Federal stimulus money to go to keeping it afloat! If we can bail out the auto industry and banks, then we can certainly save a great men's magazine.

The covers above were a few of my all time favorites. King will be missed.

Bynum, Bunnies, & Hula Hoops

It looks like Andrew Bynum was doing more than lifting playmates above his head over the weekend. In this clip he challenges some hot bunnies to a hula hoop contest. I don't care that he lost, but did he really even have to do all of that. It looks like the girl already had a thing for him, or at least Hef told her to pretend. Hot playboy bunnies rotating their hips like that is always great to see.

Tyson vs Michael Jack Johnson (1985)

I just happened to be up at 1:30 when ESPN aired some old Mike Tyson footage. I didn't see this fight at the time, but YouTube had it in the archives. This is one of his fastest stoppages as he just destroyed Michael Jack Johnson.

At the time Tyson was 7-0 with seven knockouts and this made eight. His opponent hadn't been in the ring for two years, and it was painfully obvious.

Listen to him after the fight as he talks about his accurate punching. It's one of those interviews where Mike used bigger words than we thought he was capable of understanding!

Line of the Night

The line was delivered by PF David West.

40 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, 1 block

His Hornets won the game 111-110 over Sacramento.
