According to ESPN.com, a rematch has finally been set between Roy Jones Jr & Bernard Hopkins, if Roy can defeat Danny Green on Dec. 2. The fighters have disputed over money in the past, which has led to the rematch being stalled on several occasions. They agreed to terms of a 50/50 split, but if a fighter gets knocked out then its 60% to the winner & 40% to the loser. Personally I just hope that Roy can get past Green so we all can see the rematch fight fans have been waiting on. The bout would take place sometime in 2010.
I really hope that the rematch can happen, but with these two guys I won't hold my breath. The careers of both fighters took off after the first bout, as Jones started his climb to heavyweight glory and Hopkins flat out dominated the middleweight division. I would pay PPV dollars to see it, even though it's about 5-10 years late.
